Year 11 Semester 1 Evidence:

Year 11 Semester 2 Evidence and Reflections:
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growths. Students are able to see themselves as individuals with various abilities and skills, of which some are more developed than others.

In terms of hockey, my strengths are hitting, decision making, positioning and individual skills. However, I am always focusing on improving my aerial skills including tomahawks and over-heads as well as my tenacity in defence.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process. A new challenge may be an unfamiliar experience or an extension of an existing one. The newly acquired or developed skills may be shown through experiences that the student has not previously undertaken or through increased expertise in an established area.

I am/was the captain of my school, club and rep team this year, which requires me to demonstrate leadership skills - which can always been improved. As captain, I am responsible for preparing the team mentally and physically pre-grame and ensuring the other team members demonstrate their commitment to the team.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences. Students demonstrate regular involvement and active engagement in CAS.
I have demonstrated my commitment through my consistency in attending training, games and tournaments. These include: North Area Hockey Association, North West Sydney Hockey Association, SWHL Metro, IGSSA, CIS, NSW State Championships and Australian National Championships. I train everyday for a variety of teams and I never miss a training/match unless I am sick or injured (and even then I go to support my team).

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively. Students are able to identify, demonstrate and critically discuss the benefits and challenges of collaboration gained through CAS experiences.

As hockey is a team sport, it is essential to work collaboratively as a team to ensure the best performance possible. Through this CAS experience, I have been able to improve my communication skills between coaches and players, which is crucial for both an enjoyable and successful season.

Year 12 Semester 1 Evidence and Reflections:

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growths. Students are able to see themselves as individuals with various abilities and skills, of which some are more developed than others.

My strengths are communication, receiving on the move and hitting over distance however I am working on my fitness, as this would improve my ability to perform these skills at a higher level.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process. A new challenge may be an unfamiliar experience or an extension of an existing one. The newly acquired or developed skills may be shown through experiences that the student has not previously undertaken or through increased expertise in an established area.

As the season has just come to a finish, I now have a personal goal to maintain my fitness and skill levels before I start SMA (Sydney Metro Academy) which requires self motivation, determination and persistence. This personal challenge requires me to organise my time and identify the areas in which I need to improve in by myself instead of relying on coaches and friends.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences. Students demonstrate regular involvement and active engagement in CAS.
I show commitment through the multiple competitions such as a Summer Hockey Competition at Briars Hockey Club and different training programs such as SMA (Sydney Metro Academy). I play hockey every monday night for the summer competition and training on saturday and sunday for pre-season, thus demonstrating regular involvement and active engagement in CAS.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively. Students are able to identify, demonstrate and critically discuss the benefits and challenges of collaboration gained through CAS experiences.

As I participate in a team sport, I am constantly working collaboratively before, during and after games. It is sometimes hard to collaborate effectively as there are always different opinions in deciding what strategies the team should use eg. 'pressing' formations when the opposition is hitting from a '16' in their defensive half. However, working collaboratively
