Ballet Assistance:
Year 11 Semester 1 Evidence and Reflections:

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth. Students are able to see themselves as individuals with various abilities and skills, of which some are more developed than others.
Engaging the children for the entire lesson is a strength of mine, as well as clear explanations for the children on how to improve. However, I always focus on paying attention to all of the students, and not just the ones in the front of the group.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process. A new challenge may be an unfamiliar experience or an extension of an existing one. The newly acquired or developed skills may be shown through experiences that the student has not previously undertaken or through increased expertise in an established area.
Creating a relationship with the students that is a balance between fun and instructive, is definitely a challenge that I regularly face as it is important to incorporate both these aspects into the lesson. I have not taught for very long in comparison to other teachers/assistants so I am always improving and becoming more comfortable as the person in charge.
LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences. Students demonstrate regular involvement and active engagement in CAS.
Every saturday for 2 hours, I attend Macdonald College to assist Sarah Minol in her Grade 3 and Performance Class.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively. Students are able to identify, demonstrate and critically discuss the benefits and challenges of collaboration gained through CAS experiences.

I work collaboratively with Sarah Minol, as I am her assistant, and by doing so, we are able to focus on multiple students at once. We can correct and work one-on-one with students who are struggling with particular moves. We have no issues working together so the class is enjoyable for us as well as the students.
